Colourful autumn skirt

Today Pienkel is launching her second pdf sewing pattern: the Dyyni skirt for girls. I already tested it!
The skirt consists of 6 pattern pieces, which makes it ideal for colourblocking. It has options for a single or double layered skirt, pockets, a ruffle and two different ways of making the waist band.

I chose to make the double layered skirt with pockets. Hopefully the extra layer of fabric will make this warm enough for the cold season. The little girl chose the fabrics herself (and then said 'no thank you' once it was finished...).

This skirt is a very quick sew and the fit is fine. You cannot really go wrong with an elastic waist. I think it is an ideal project for a beginning seamstress; it's not difficult and unique at the same time.
We combined with some autumn colours and tested it's suitability for twirling. I like it and I'm sure the little girl will come around soon!

The skirt is on sale here with a 25% discount until September 16th using the code DYYNILAUNCH25 and if you want to win one, look here.
